Help installing new Ethernet card & driver. XP

Our ideas may be more helpful if you give more details beyond "doesn't work." :)

Does the ethernet LED light when you plug in the cable? Does the new adapter appear as "OK" in Device Manager under Network Adapters? Have you disabled the old adapter either in the BIOS or in Device Manager?
