Still have the same problem, but here is what I tried. I actually have 2 websites at 2 different hosting companies that I connect to.
Site A, Hosting Company A - This is the primary website and it requires the VPN
Site B, Hosting Company B - This is another site that does not require a VPN.
On Windows 7, the VPN works & I can connect to Site A & B with no problem.
On Windows 8, the VPN works & I can connect to Site B with no problem, but I can't connect to Site A.
Short version, there is a conflict between my Windows 8 pc and Site A/Hosting Company A.
Pinging:
On Windows 7, I can Ping both Site A & B with no problem.
On Windows 8, I can Ping Site B fine. When I enter "ping servername" for Site A, it shows 'pinging servername [73.43...]' so it does show the IP, but then it shows: 'Request timed out.' Packets: Sent=4,Rec'd=0,Lost=4
I did try "ipconfig /flushdns", rebooted, and tried again but it still will not let me connect. I also did "ipconfig /all" on both Windows 7 & Windows 8 machines and the DNS Servers seem to be exactly the same.
On Windows 8, I tried using Wifi & hard wired internet just for the heck of it, but that didn't help. I just don't understand how/why I can connect to Site B and not Site A.
