Hi Everyone,
I am running a Domain (using Windows Server 2008 R2), that services a variety of Windows (only) client computers. The Windows clients in question are XP Professional, Vista Business, Windows 7 Professional, and Windows 8 Professional.
I would like to control access to the internet on my Domain, such that client computers are only able to visit a very select (specific) list of URLs.
Preferably I would like to be able to administer the control of URLs from the Windows Server. Furthermore I would also like to be able to allocate various clients into logical "business groups", e.g.: "Stores", "Sales Team", etc. Finally each group will be permitted access to specific URLs based on their day to day needs.
If simple administration of URLs is not possible from the Server; or if the cost of this approach is inhibitive I am open to suggests on how to limit the URL access of each client computer.
Most client computers in my network have "Administrative" privileges so control from the Server is my greatest hope. However I am able to set various client computers to "User" only privileges.
For extra background information most of my clients use a variety of browsers; therefore it is not uncommon to have Chrome, Firefox & IE all installed on a single client.
Any suggestions & / or help here will be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Davo
