Recently in the past few days my load speed for webpages has been sporadically terrible. Sometimes it will be fine, but other times it will take absolutely ages to load the page and then sometimes not even load it at all, and not load pictures, etc, as well as online streaming, which has always been fine for me and something I used to do often with no lag, has been lagging and buffering nonstop.
But meanwhile, even when the load speeds and stream speeds are horrible, my ping and general internet performance outside of browser-based things seems to be fine. I can see constant ping on one program and it has always reacted when my internet is poor, spiking high or just generally showing high numbers, but it always stays low, and I can see just based on reaction speed on internet programs as well as experience no lag whatsoever on online games that the internet speed seems to be fine outside of browser-based activities. I have tried different browsers, and this problem persists on my laptop as well as my new and fairly decent PC so I don't think it is a computer problem.
I've even tried booting into safe mode with networking and loading pages and when it is bad it remains bad even in safe mode, failing to load even pictures on some websites.
So I can't understand why the internet would be so poor sometimes when surfing the internet and yet at the same times that it is poor it is fine elsewhere. I can play an online game and not lag whatsoever while loading a webpage horribly. (any webpage). I can also try to load a webpage and have it load terribly, but try a different webpage at the same time and have that one load just fine. They are popular websites like youtube and google so I really doubt the discrepancy in load time is due to the website's servers.
I have called and online chatted the customer service of my ISP and they were absolutely no help other than saying "there is high usage in your area". I don't know whether this is indeed the problem, but it seems like it isn't because I assume that would affect all aspects of my internet and not seemingly just a few. Even if that is the problem I suppose I will just switch ISPs because I have a fairly expensive internet bundle right now and if I am getting speeds like this just because of "high usage" then it is not worth it.
If anyone can offer any kind of help or advice it would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
