Windows 8 ICS issues (sharing internet)

My System:
  • Windows 8.1 pro (custom build)
  • Netgear WNA1100 network adapter. It supports hostednetwork, I've been able to connect my phone to my hostednetwork without issue (even synced music via this).

What I've done:

Started a hostednetwork with the following command line commands:

Code:

netsh wlan set hostednetwork ssid="Test" key="password"
netsh wlan start hostednetwork

I then went into adapter settings and enabled 'share this internet connection' from the adapter I'm getting on the internet with to the newly created local area connection Test.

What I think my issue is:

For whatever reason Window's ICS service, while fully started (because it's assigning the 192.168.137.x ip to any connected device on my hostednetwork, which only occurs when ICS is in the fully started mode and not the standbye mode which would be assigning IP's in 192.168.178.x), doesn't send packets from my hostednetwork to the internet connection.

I should add that my internet connection is also via wifi, the same adapter broadcasting the network. Every guide online seemed to state support for wired connections only. It shouldn't be an issue but perhaps it is.

Any thoughts?
