Lightning fried PCIe GBI Family Controller. What now?

My house got struck by lightning. I had all electricity protected but forgot to surge protect the DSL phone line. The phone line didn't get a direct hit but picked up some static and my modem was lost. Also, the ethernet plug on my OOMA phone system was lost along with the Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. It shows as not working. The rest of the computer seems fine. This is on an Asus motherboard.

Can I fix this by simply purchasing a replacement networking card and plugging it into one of the motherboard card slots? If it requires a special type, please let me know.
