I have Cox cable internet here in San Diego and I have been having a lot of connection issues. I think that when my connection slows way down or stalls momentarily it is the cable company giving me a poor signal. It seems like when I try to diagnose it with Cox support on the phone it works good at the time but I still have connection issues.
I am using 3 different laptops running speedtest.net, 2 on wifi and 1 with Ethernet cable so I no it is not a single computer issue.
I have a cable connection and I am suppose to be getting 50 Mbps and I have a new Motorola SurfBoard modem/wifi unit. I had this same issue also happening with the old Netgear modem I had so I am pretty sure it is not a modem issue.
Is there a tool to monitor my providers service over time like a day or two? If it is a provider issue I would like to be able to provide them data on it.
Thanks.
P.S. I added SNMP Log from my router, I don't really know what this stuff means but does this help.
