Can't connect to internet

Here's the dealio. I bought a new computer recently, like built it from scratch with parts or whatever. The wireless adapter I bought was a TP Link N900 dual band. This thing has been trouble almost from the start. So it was smooth sailing for a while, no problems. Suddenly, it started doing this thing out of the blue where it would like power down out of nowhere, try to restart, then freeze at the "windows didn't shut down right" screen. I never figured out why that was happening, but whatever. That has stopped now out of the blue, but now a have a new problem. My internet connection will work for a while, but then it stops. I'm still connected to my router, it says I have excellent connection or whatever, but pages won't load and I can't do internet things. I've made sure that there's no IP address conflict going on, but no good. Any ideas guys?

Edit one: Never mind it's still doing the thing where it crashes, so I get to make another thread asking about that tomorrow I guess...
