I am having a problem with my windows xp laptops internet connection. It is a lenovo s10 netbook, and I have tried now 3 different wireless cards in it and still have the same problem so I think it has to do with the way windows is set up.
Basically the problem I am having is I get an exelent signal connection, esspetially when I'm in the same room as my router, but never less than good. Yet it takes forever to load new web pages, main word there being new. I can talk on Skype or play games no problem, no dissconects, and if I stay on the same web page I have no problem, but say I'm searching on duckduckgo.com, I can scroll as long as I want, as many pages and it'll keep going, if I click on a link it then takes well over a minute to even connect (Firefox plugin let me watch page download %) but once its connected it loads in like 3 seconds. It also does this it I type in a new address in the address bar, example going from Facebook to YouTube.
I know its not my internet because everything plugged in direct works perfectly. And its on just the wireless because my tablet and the two smart phones in the house work perfectly.
The router is a wrt54g v6 (maybe v8 but I don't think so) either way its running dd-wrt. Set up with WAP (I know not WPA2, but that's so some older devices of mine can connect)
Thanks guys.
