HI ya, I have an error 651 problem setting up an Ethernet connection from my Microsoft lab that I have configed using an 1812 router that connects to the ISP's Netgear modem.I have the lab on the 192.168.1.0 net inbound fa0/1 to the Cisco 1812, and the 192.168.0.0 net coming out of it on the fa 0/0 port going to the Netgear - all well and good. I have a green light on the Netgear port and can ping to it all the way from my laptop (Which is what's hosting the VM that Server 2012 is sitting on inside the .1.0 lab network)
However, when I go to set a new Ethernet connection up with the wizard, it gives me a Error 651 when trying to "Dial in" I have looked at some of the solutions on line like shutting down anti-virus and trying Safe mode with Networking and changing the raspppoe.sys file but the fact is I had this working a week ago, and now it it just....doesn't.
Wireless connection still works fine and is on 192.168.0.x (DHCP assigned) network as does desktop PC witch is also on 192.168.0.x with a DHCP designation.
The troubleshooting wizard is telling me there is a DNS issue - Windows can't communicate with one...
Many thanks to anyone trying to make sence of any of this....
