I came across a really good tutorial on installing a virtual router on VB, however, when I go download the ISO things seem to go a bit pear shaped. I am new to VB and Microsoft Server but have had no problems creating Server 2012 R2 and Win 7 pro client instances within VB.
What I can't do is create a separate LAN on which I can have Server 2012 as the DHCP and DNS service provider which means I can't start getting to mess about with Active Directory and all the rest of it.
I have networking hardware that I can't get to create a separate LAN either.
The virtual router I'm having trouble with is pfSence and the hardware I was trying ot use is a Cisco 1812 ISR, my ISP modem is a Netgear N150 Wireless ADSL2+ modem router, model DGN1000
I have been trying anything and everything I can think of for nearly a week now and I'm just about out of ideas. These tutorials make it all seem so easy yet when I go to do things I seem to run into problems straight away.
Any suggestions????
