Often when I'm scanning a network I see secondary addresses of .254 or .255 being used by routers or devices like a Media Server. They can't connect to the internet using these addresses, they actually show as two different mac addresses and ips but on a single device. For example my own media center has .30, an address I assign it using dhcp reservation, which I use to block it's access to the internet using access control, and .255 which I have no control over assigning, I believe it's serving the private network on this address, while a secondary router has 2.1 and 2.254 assigned to it (the primary is 1.1). Try Colasoft MAC Scanner to look at the devices connected to your network. I'd suggest having your primary router set to .1 or .2, the first repeater set to .4 and the second to .6. I've set up two repeaters that used .3 and .4, .5 and .6, while the primary used .1 and .2. They were designed for that, and at first it was confusing to see the way they used two addresses each. The repeaters may be assuming .254 is reserved as a private address and don't expect to be able to connect to the internet through that address, and aren't designed to.

Reviving this thread as I have been unable to address this continuing issue.

Yes, this setup (ATT router with 2 separate DDWRT repeaters) has worked in the past and suddenly stopped working. It is only isolated to the desktop. I am able to access the internet with the laptop but not the desktop.

I can only access the internet with the desktop if I am hooked up directly to the ATT router.

I can access the internet via the repeater (ddwrt router) with the laptop (wired). I also have the desktop wired to the same repeater (ddwrt router) at the same time and I cannot access the internet with the desktop.

Any ideas?
