I get my default internet connection from a home router into my notebook, so both the machines have exactly the same ip config.

I don't know how that happened, but that's clearly a problem. Have you had other problems with duplicate IPs being assigned by the router?

when installing the server, do I need to enter any specific IPs (for the domain for example) and configuration?

What are you trying to do? If you are trying to set up a second network for the two virtual computers to communicate they both, of course, have to be in the same subnet. You could let Windows assign APIPA (169.254.x.y) or you could assign static IPs. If the latter, leave the Default Gateways and DNS servers blank. Either way, if you set up two paths between the computers you may get strange problems.
