Find network path

A basic, unmanaged switch has no way of reporting back to a connected device what port is being used for the connection.

If you are trying to determine which port is being used for a given computer and your switch has port status lights, you could get up into the attic and check to see which status light goes out when a helper by the computer unplugs the network cable from the computer.
