Public network - unidentified network cant change to home

All I've ever been able to guess is that it's just a Windows idiosyncrasy. Why it automatically designates a connection with an APIPA as Public is beyond me. :rolleyes: It would be more convenient if it designated Private (Home) or, better, asked. Of course, in this case it really doesn't matter what the designation is.
