1. Maybe this thread should have been referred to your Vista section. Can we get their help as well?
2. In my thread Uk slow wireless speed I have described quite in details my nightmare caused by the wireless speed fluctuations I have received from Plusnet. This has an addition from yesterday when at long last an engineer came to deal with the telephone hiss noise, which Plusnet considered the reason that their change of setting from last week still allows speed drop (now to about 6Mpbs instead of 3Mpbs). The engineer tested the line, stopped the hiss & eventually decided to move the main socket from the front room to the back room where I use the laptop. When he checked the speed on his equipment it showed 14Mpbs, but the network 514B14 didnt appear on network list. I actually was connected to some broadband network (I havent seen Before). After I connected with the help of Plusnet- to my network & deleted this foreign network, again the speed returned to about 6Mpbs & the router suspected by the engineer to be faulty- continued as usual to be very nervous.
3. To your immediate questions: The router is Plausnet TG582n, security is WPA2 Personal, encryption AES & there is something PSK.
Hopefully you may solve the mystery.
Thanks CleaverX
