The Orange light the OP refers to could be the yellow light on the "link" implicating a connection via Ethernet cable. A green light would implicate a connection via USB

WelpImLost never specified which model of the Tm722 he had. There are 4 different models: A/B/S/G This is important in helping identify what lights are illuminated implicating the state of how the modem is working.
Also, as an owner of an WRT54Gv5, I can assure you that unless the Linksys router is properly configured, it will not connect to the Comcast Tm722. I also have a Comcast connection.
There is also the issue of the WRT54 series not being compatible with Comcast's new DOCSIS data transmission, but I honestly think that the Tm722 is what handles DOCSIS and that the WRT54G should still be able to connect.
Just my thoughts.
