Based on your quite thorough trouble shooting I'd say that the ethernet switch part of the router is defective. If one of those cables and one of those computers works with another router or with a connection directly to the modem that would confirm that the router needs to be replaced.

My only concern is that when I connect an Ethernet cable to the router, the LED starts to blink both sides "Router/PC".
So this means the PC detects that there's a connection but cannot obtain an IP.
I'll definitely try different router and check.
