Why does laptop fail to connect to wireless wifi?

I don't remember going to the manufacturers website. All I can remember is some kind of driver automatically updating about a year ago. When I clicked on the update button for the Broadcom driver it said that it was up to date.Although the date for the driver is 5/24/2011.The newer computers driver was dated 2/20/2011 but it works fine and is from Realtek. As far as downloading and transferring the driver with the working computer to the other computer.I don't have a cd or a USB cable that I know of.Also I don't know what a thumb drive is.Can you explain it?Oh and the computer that isn't working with our cable providers wireless WiFi oddly works just fine with our cellular hot spot so I can download things through that.I can try downloading a new driver for Broadcom. In case that doesn't work what else should I try?

I have tried:

System Restore,Deleting the Broadcom network adapter driver (it automatically reinstalled.I'm guessing straight from the adapter it's self),ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew,disabling other networks on the computer, rebooting in safe mode, diagnosing and trying to fix the network connectivity problem, checking the firewall settings (which haven't changed),checking internet options (in case it was set for working offline.Which it isn't.),checking the networks info and turning off the Bluetooth off and turning it back on.
