I have set up a VPN server using the built in thing within the router settings and I am just wondering how to check to make sure that it's working and is not leaking anything. It says it's running and I have done some IP checks and extended IP tests but my concern is that every time I check my ip using say whatismyip.com it shows as Comcast which Is who I have and shows my city but if I do an extended IP test using whoer.net/extended it shows my IP address as the same but under DNS it shows an ip for my browser and an ip for my flash and those are both different and are both for a place called level 3 communications out of Chicago so that look to be working but my concern is that or question rather is that shouldn't my IP address that shows up in whatismyip.com or ipchicken be different and not showing as Comcast and with my city or city/location close to mine etc. I mean I did a test on my android phone and the ip was the same before and after I connected to the VPN so it seems like maybe I did something wrong. The same goes with my PC I connected to my VPN but the ip address is still the same so maybe I am just mistaken and my IP should still show the same while at home but maybe it should show something completely different. So was just wondering if someone here could guide me or let me know if I did set things up correctly or if I need to redo something.
