Can I set up access to office DSL from home?

You need to find out exactly what level of service you have with Verizon.

Do you have clear line of site from your office to your house boat? Do you have access rights to the exterior of the building or the roof top?

With all cellular broadband services, there is a data cap based on the service package you purchase with shared services. Also keep in mind, the performance varies based on location with the number of subscribers and the infrastructure in place. Remember, you're sharing the same cell tower as other subscribers in the area which you all share the same data pipe coming out of that tower.

If you don't want to use Verizon's landline for voice service, there are alternatives out there which use your Internet service as a means to place and receive calls...basically a VoIP service. An example of this is Ooma. These services typically are much cheaper than having landline service from a Telco. But consider that you're probably getting a packaged deal which if you drop a part of the service, the remaining service will go up in price.

You know you can haggle with DirecTV to get close to or the same promotions as new subscribers. If you don't get anywhere with the customer service rep, ask to speak to the retentions department.
