With XP on one machine and Windows 7 and/or 8 on others, both like to have passworded user accounts.
I have found the simplest is to make a "COMMON" Admin user on all machines using the SAME name and password.
Then when each account has been setup, one can use any other user account and should have full access to all shared areas of all other machines. IF you get asked for a password after doing this, just use the password of the new account.
