Printer problems

Actually you can directly connect a networked printer with an Ethernet port to a computer with an Ethernet port. You don't need to put it on a LAN with a DHCP server running on it. All the network printers I've worked on have the ability to be assigned a static IP address. In business deployments, this is the norm where network printers are assigned static IPs or are configured with DHCP reservations which for all intents and purposes sets up a static IP situation.

But all the network printers I've come across lately have USB ports on them. I would think it's easier to just connect to the printer via USB.
