I solved my problem earlier tonight. I flashed the firmware of my Netgear WNDR3700v2 Wireless Router with DD-WRT, set it up with the same settings as the old firmware, and everything worked. Actually everything works better than before. I was afraid that I would brick my router as I did last time I tried to flash an old Linksys WRT54GL, but all went well this time around. If anyone else has the problem I did, I would suggest giving DD-WRT a shot with your router if your router happens to be a supported model.
