Turning on laptop breaks wireless connection

For a day now I have had the following issue with my wireless internet connection:

It works fine, I can access wireless internet with a tablet or other device, but as soon as I turn on my laptop, the router light switches from blue to red and I have limited connectivity and can't use the wireless network anymore with ANY device. The problem is resolved when I turn off the laptop and give the router a power cycle, but when laptop is turned on again - same issue. Internet works on a laptop when I hook it up directly to the modem through a wired connection.

Windows network diagnostics shows me a problem with reaching the DNS server when I run it with the broken wireless connection on.

Can anyone help with this issue? I can't seem to find it described anywhere. Thank you!
