Netgear N900 and Netgear USB control center

Hello,

I need some advice on how to proceed. My issue is with USB printing from the router, the Netgear N900 (WNDR4500) to be specific. The use of Netgear's USB control center has worked with this router before the computer was reloaded, but will not after the reload.

Let me explain a little about the situation. There are two computers on the network running XP. Both were able to use the USB control center to print to the HP OfficeJet 5610v through the router and even scan. One computer has been upgraded with two SSD drives installed in a raid configuration, and windows reinstalled. Then I reinstalled drivers and updated windows. After several hours copying manually backed up files and repairing shortcuts, I started reinstalling software that needed to be put back on the system. One of which was the Netgear USB control center, after installing the printer. The software installed correctly with no errors, with a required reboot. When I open the program, it will not see the printer. The printer has to be on for the software to be able to see it. This still works on the other computer with no problems.

I have check the firewall setting and even tried with the firewall disabled temporarily. I upgraded the USB control center from version 1.32 to 1.36, but still plagued with the same results.

I know XP is outdated but some software is still needed, like the USB control center, that will not work in Linux. Ubuntu is also installed on this computer on the same raid drives, but there is no way that I have found to see the printer connected to the router. My understanding is that the control center makes a virtual USB port connected trough UDP so the OS thinks and sees the printer connected via USB. The two system files that installed to the system32\drivers folder are “netgearUDSMBus.sys” and “netgearUDSTcpBus.sys”.

I'm at a loss for what to do next, or where to go from here. Is there any other software that can be utilized with the router and usb printer? Is there a way I can manually make the connection? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
