Have you ever updated the wireless driver from the manufacture website? I would try this first, you will have to download the driver with the working computer, then transfer the file over (thumb drive/cd) and run the install.

due to how old the model is.The best fix I know for that is buy a brand new modem and give the ARRIS back to our cable company.
