I am having a problem getting my "cloud ready" printer to print without using a Netbook w/Windows 7 installed.
My hardware is :
Computer - Samsung Chromebook - XE 303c12
B/W Printer - Dell - B1160W (not cloud ready) Driver installed on Netbook
Color Printer - Brother - MFC J475DW (cloud ready) Driver installed on Netbook
Router/Cable/Voice - Xfinity supplied Technicolor - TC 8305C
The IP Address :
Computer - 10.0.0.4
Color Printer - 10.0.0.10
Router/Cable/Voice - 10.0.0.1 (Gateway) ???
I can print to either printer using the Classical method by using a Windows PC but it must be powered on. With the Dell printer
I know this has to be.
I have gone thru the procedure of registering the Brother printer with Google Cloud Print.
I have been on the phone with Brother with no results. They don't support Chromebook.
My understanding of networks and their workings is minimal so I apologize for my lack of understanding.
I have a Note 3 which has the app iPrint&Scan feature installed and was able to print a spreadsheet to the MFC without the Windows 7 PC powered on.
