Other than those one or two places with Google's experimental system probably in the US the best service is Verizon FiOS where available. AT&T U-verse is, like FiOS, fiber optic based, but I think that in some places the distance from the fiber to your residence is long enough that the service is essentially DSL. I know very little about it, so would ask some hard questions and try to check with neighbors before signing up for it.
Otherwise it's as Tony said, with Cable (Comcast for you) almost always the best choice for bandwidth, reliability and cost/benefit ratio (except for a light user).
