What exactly is listed in the Network Adapters heading in the Device Manager?
If both the ethernet and wireless devices are being detected and working properly, they should both be listed there.
According to the support site for the HP G60-235DX laptop, it has these network devices:
Realtek RTL8101E 10/100 Mbps ethernet
Atheros 2011 or Broadcom or Intel PRO 802.11b/g wireless
