so are you using the wireless from your netgear router and you mother connected by cable to the modem ?
trying to find all the differences between the working PC (your mums) and your non working PC and then we can try and fault find the differences
at the moment , it would be the patch pane, the router and if you are on wireless the wireless signal , which would need investigating and that will require a feww more tests and more technical questions , anything you dont understand just ask
so are they the differences ?
would be useful if you could connect your pc , just to one cable that is directly connected to the modem and see if it disconnects- then if it does not - we know its the other equipment and not the PC or cable or modem
