"Unable to Connect" to certain sites, no ping

It's nice (for anybody trying to help) to know that you've posted on other site(s), because you could be getting duplicate or conflicting advice. My question is really about the links (which you have now removed). My first thought was that you were spamming us (advertising links to another site), but decided there probably is a more innocent explanation.

I can access your school's site; but when I ping it resolves to 206.176.39.194 and times out.

Try ping bbc.com or www.bbc.com. For both I get replies. Here's the tracert I get ...
