Another issues could be caused by corrupted/flaky firmware which can happen over time.
Basically you would log into the router, go to to tools → system and save the router settings to your local computer hard drive. Once saved you would perform a hard reset on the router which will revert/reset the router to default. Once complete you can reload the saved settings on your computer. Reset instructions in the link below.

Microsoft has an updated driver for the Atheros AR956X. Have you ran Windows update and or checked if updates are pending for restart. (Atheros AR956x, Windows 10, Ver. 10.0.0.318)
Ultimately it could just be the sign of an aging router. They don't last forever. :mad:
