Gibson Research puts out a free DNS benchmarking software. My ISP is Comcast, and when I run DNSBench, it invariably indicates that Comcast's server (75.75.75.75) is the fastest. You can set your connection to automatically find and use the fastest server, or make it use specific IP addresses. My question is, if you leave the settings to automatically find and use the fastest server, does that add a connection delay? If so, am I better off to specify which 3 IP addresses I want used, entering the Comcast server first?
