PLEASE HELP! I'm at my wits end with all this...
I have an HP Pavillion dv6 w/ith Windows 7. My internet was working this morning, my laptop died, recharged it and turned it back on, and internet was not working anymore. WiFi and connection through Ethernet was not working. It's not my router/modem since I can connect to the internet (WiFi and Ethernet) with my phone and another laptop. I did a power cycle anyways, but nothing. I also tried connecting to another WiFi that is within my range and same result (I can usually connect to it as my back up and can with other devices as well). I am getting a "Limited access" with everything I do.
I ran troubleshooter and it said that that "There might be a problem with the driver for the Wireless Network Connection adapter." My network adapters are Ralink RT5390 802.11b/g WiFi adapter and Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller for Local Area Connection. Neither of them have a yellow triangle with a "!". I even updated these drivers with the latest versions from the manufacturer websites. Nothing. Restarted my computer. Nothing. Enabled/disabled the connection. Nothing. I then uninstalled each driver, restarted my computer, let them re-install, and still nothing.
In Wireless Network Connection Properties, "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)" and "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" are both checked and they both are set to "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically". In "Advanced TCP/IP Settings" on the "IP Settings" tab, it shows "DHCP Enabled".
