linksys 1200 static mode

I have a question regarding Linksys Router E1200

My isp told me I need to set my router to operate in the static mode, after doing so the setting page makes no sense to me
but the internet still works just fine. I have listed the setting below. I have tried to find the explanation for the setting on internet but none can be found. My ip from my isp is completely different. It starts out with 68.168.xx.xx
Why this internet address and default gateway address.

Routers Basic Setting Page.
internet IP Address: 192.168.30.226
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.30.1
Dns 1: isp provided
Dns 2: isp provided
Dns 3: isp provided

The above was set by the router when switched to static mode.
