Need some brain juice here, cuz mine is getting burnt. I have setup a win2008 server to display a website on a port that I have picked because it is open for my particular ISP. Just for kicks we will say port 8080 because i used canyouseeme.org with a good return from the ISP's provided modem. That port was open for use. So the server is setup to answer on port 8080 to any traffic coming in for it. Ok for my layout i have modem>cisco 3725>cisco2950. The 2950 has its ports 1-16 for one subnet and 17-24 for the other. I have one network sub'd into two so that i can separate my voice and data traffic. Also to not pay extra to my ISP i am using a redirect company to intercept traffic intended for my server and then push it to my router's Gateway IP address that was given to me by the dhcp server from my ISP. Because this IP can change i have installed a client on my server that reports the dhcp IP at all times to the redirect company. So far the website will respond inside the LAN but I cannot get to it from the outside. I have telnet to the router's interface that is connected to the modem and ran the "sh int fa1/0" command from inside. This shows me the current dhcp ip and it matches what the client is showing as well. I then did some research and found that I needed to tell the router to forward any packets that are for port 8080 on this interface to my server's ip address inside, however I dont think I have done it correctly. I removed all firewalls, took firewall appliance out, and checked for the port to be open, all from the server outward. So now I am wondering what have I not told the router yet! What is the syntax that i will need to input? With that stuff said above I have enclosed my config for review (of course it is a fake one, for my security) : it is in a notepad attachment..,...,
