2 flaws:
1) Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection 2 is not your intended wireless adapter.
2) Network connection 2 is not your intended wireless adapter.
Now I realise that, technically speaking, that's only one flaw but I thought it was such a big one it was worth mentioning twice.

It sounds like your driver did not install correctly or your device is defective. Generally you would want to run your CD software first then connect the wireless adapter. Your device manager as TerryNet mentioned should be able to confirm incorrect installation.
